Harry, year this time last, you were getting ready to kick off the growing season against United at Old Trafford in Leicester colours – and today it is the place you’ll call home. How does that feel? It’s incredible. It’s a really proud moment for me personally to join such a large golf club, I’m really looking forward to it and I cannot wait to get started.
How has pre-season eliminated for you? Yeah, I have a tendency to get my mind down – I’ve worked well hard, I’ve done every program and I’ve played every game for Leicester so my fitness will there be. That was a large part for me to try out because if I finished up getting the move that I wanted, I would have been fit and in contention to try out the first game.
I feel just like I’m ready to go, but obviously it is the gaffer’s decision. What’s your understanding from the manager about his programs for United, not only for this season however the future as well? Well, it’s a team now and we have big ambitions for the future. I think we have to start winning trophies again and that is something the gaffer wants to bring to the golf club, and his winning mentality as well, which can only help all the guys. It’s something that I’m sure him and his staff will all try to bring to the club and we are all looking forward to it.
Is it fascinating to be always a main part of that rebuilding process? Yeah definitely, I think you’ve seen the players that we’ve earned already this year. You can see they’re seeking to build and improve on last season and I’m sure we’ll do that. Manchester United prides itself in being truly a family club at heart – is that something that drew one to the club, and it is that something you’ve already seen on your first day here the training floor? Yeah, it’s an incredible membership. It’s a club I’ve always viewed and I’ve always looked up to after i was more youthful.

You always imagine walking out at Wembley and Old Trafford, they’re both big stadiums when you’re a young kid, and now I’m part of it. I’ve come here today and everyone’s been so welcoming, I can’t wait to begin with and I cannot wait to meet the lads and hopefully we can kick on. You began at age 11 at hometown team Sheffield United and used to be a ballboy at Bramall Lane – how will it feel to go back there as a Manchester United player?
It’s incredible. Obviously they’ve done so well to get into the Premier League, so it’s heading to be a great game for myself to return to Bramall Lane, one I’m getting excited about, as a guy United player especially. I’ll be going to do the business enterprise, get the three points, but it will likely be a special occasion for me personally.
